Hi Guys, Did you guys hear about the new rules in MCC? sounds pretty depressing and Jacked up!!.. The present principal (who i heard is not even an MCC'ian) has brought down Moon Shadow to one day instead of the usual 3 days inter hall cultural events. The college also has knocked down rock shows and fashion shows!... I have no idea why the college is interfering in these matters and acting like a moral police to grown up kids! Would love to hear your thoughts... Also would like to know if we can do some thing about this as an alumni. I personally think it is a dangerous trend of "Christian Fundamentalism" which is growing in the top leadership of MCC!!... Hope it will not affect the wonderful secular nature of our college!.

I hope one of you can help me. We (Manhattanville College) placed an ad in the online version of the Hindu Newspaper but the ad can only be seen in India. It is on the front page on the right and is a very short video. If anybody who is in India would be willing to check and see it, I would be ever so appreciative. Thanks. My e-mail address is smithme@mville.edu. Cheers, Molly

Hello Molly! Thank you for the note. We would love to get together with you if you would visit FL. Just let us know. Our email address is: scyejerla@tampabay.rr.com. Our telephone # 727-527-0409. I hope you and your family are doing well. Your trip to India this coming November should be a strengthening time for you. You enjoy and have fun. It has been some 15 years I think since I visited. I want to sometime, but it is a challenge for me to leave family here even for a week or so. But I plan to visit sometime. After MCC, I went to Papua New Guniea as a missionary teacher. After teaching in other places, we retured to US, found a job in accounting, worked several years, got laid off, currently working with an insurance company. Family is doing well. I should send our family pictures to you if you provide email address. I will keep in touch.

Dear Stanley and Cynthia, Yiour e-mail won't work so I am writing to you on this page. Thank you so very much for the tea and chocolates. That was really very kind of you and it is much appreciated. I am so glad that you viewed the Inauguration; I finally had them take it down off the web page. I am hoping to get to India in early November this year. I have not been in five years! Will visit MCC. I hope you are well. If I am ever in FL, I will let you know and perhaps we can get together. Best, Molly

Dear Friends (and Stanley, of course, I remember you!) I lost Prem Nath's e-mail -- he is in New Zealand. Dooes anybody have it? I know that most of you are far away and cannot attend my Inauguration on April 7th, but if you can, and I apologize for sending this so late, I would love for you to be here at y Inauguration on April 7th. Below is a site from which you can RSVP: www.mville.edu/guest The following web site provides details for the day: http://www1.mville.edu/inauguration/ If you go to the Manhattanville College Home Page at www.mville.edu, you can click on the Inauguration site directly for additional information. We have had a tumultuous semester with a student death on campus followed by a storm over the weekend which knocked down over 30 trees and our power lines. We are now in clean-up mode. I hope all of you are well. I plan to be in India in early May, on a rather hectic trip of several cities, but I would love to see some of you there. Cheers, Molly

Something Profound eh? The simplest questions are the most profound. Where were you born? Where is your home? Where are you going? What are you doing? Think about these once in a while and watch your answers change. Hey What up? Simone Hanson in the house... Class of 1993 (BA Eng Lit)- so here's a shout out to all my classmates and batchmates... if you guys are within a 200 miles of Appleton WI (Which is bascially Madison, Milwaukee and Chi Town) look me up... Hi Kuku, Sorry for the spelling error -- but hey, aren't we all fallible? I could not find it on a re-read but I'll take your word that I misspelt it.

Hi, pals from the states. Good to communicate with you. Did you know that MCC has gone to the dogs? It's no longer the cool hub it once was. That's symptomatic of what's happening in arts and science colleges across the country, especially in Madras. Pity Kuku

Thank you, Joe. The Reunion sounds like fun! Yes, on the news of my appointment in the media. A Kerala newspaper interviewed me and wrote a piece, which several of my aunts in the US read and they then phoned my sister (also an MCC alum) in San Diego and my father in Madras. Before I knew it, all of Kerala seemed to know. Rather nice publicity. And what a small world! I wrote to the Dean of International Education MCC, Dr. Ganasekharan, and have not heard back yet; I am trying to connect Manhattanville College and MCC on international study. It would be wonderful if I could. Too bad that students do not use the gutters! They were a natural home for all of us. Great memories of those timnes in MCC. Innocent times too!
Molly E Smith (Molly) wrote on 13 February 09
Hello Cherian, I wrote and asked the same question in horror! But somebody wrote back to quell my alarm and say that they still exist. Thank goodness. We spent more hours in the gutters than anywhere else!
Cherian Zachariah (Cherry) wrote on 12 February 09
Online alumini magazine looks good and professional. All the best. On another note - Someone mentioned that the gutters at MCC are gone. IS this true ? if so why ? . This had a specific purpose in the past. Regards to All.
